What You Can Expect as a Crisis Nurse

Crisis response nursing jobs are often short-term contracts (3-13 weeks), or project-based assignments in response to a tragic or large event with an unexpected census for patient care. Our contract nursing agency staffs nurses of all specialties on assignment within 14 days. However, it is possible our crisis nurses will start an assignment sooner, usually with 7-14 business days. In comparison to a traditional travel nursing assignment, NurseChoice travelers can rely on a guaranteed work week with all assignments.

Crisis Nurse v. Rapid Response Nurse

  • A crisis response nurse will work on a contract basis in an emergent situation, such as; a natural disaster. 
  • A rapid response nurse works on a contract basis for a hospital or healthcare facility independent of a crisis. For example, a hospital may need rapid response nurses due to a hospital wing opening.
